Looking good mate,

There must be some satisfaction in resurrection of an old beast.

I am Currently working on a 96 ex Police ST1100 at the moment .

Funnily enough as it is not an abs bike it has 41 mm forks as well. in 96 the non police bikes went to 43 mm here in Oz. Now I wish I hadn't of parted out the VTR forks when I did a USD job on the Storm. I had 600 f4i calipers as well that I sold.

One thing that I am impressed with on the Hondas is the build quality..

Keep us posted on your adventure with the sofa.

Check under the arms of the swinger, Ive had a cbr6 that was rotted through half way along, but didnt realise until I took a rotary wire brush on a grinder to the paint, I then did the same to the 1000 and it had a couple of small holes.
They rust from the inside out so by the time the bottom has perforated its pretty thin.
Thing is, I looked up inside with a torch and it looked ok.
One side on the 6 had the bottom 3/4 gone completely, but the handling was ok.
I welded a strip along after cutting the rot out.
Thing is, I was doing 130 a couple of days previously ....
