With difficulty.

You can either go for the stop mod http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 31&t=19416
Which is the Honda auto CCT's that are converted to a fail safe. So when it does fail, it don't send the valves crashing.

Or

You go for the full manual conversion, your options are here
http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 16&t=22720

Then with regards to fitting View Topic
http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=8326

Have a read up there's loads on info on the forum regarding CCT's.

Replacing the OEM CCTs with something safer is a whole load less technical (and expensive) than tidying up the mess if it implodes.

Busted Cam chain blown valves into cylinder...

If you do you will still have to remove the rear cam cover to set up your timing. You can't just pull them and put new ones in. If you do go down replacing with Honda autos then you might as well do a stop mod to prevent any valve damage if there is a failure.

As for being technical anyone that knows one end of a spanner to the other is capable of doing it. And if one does not, then it's best left to someone that does. Just read through the set up instructions once, twice however many times it takes to sink in. If you have any questions ask before fitting so everything is clear. It's really not to difficult if following step by step. The problem is it sounds a lot more complicated than it is and can be a nervracking task.

Do follow the instruction on here though and not a Haynes manual as the Haynes has detrimental flaws in it.

Bazza here in Essex does OEM CCTS converted to manuals (remember to send him your old ones), There's RoS who makes manuals or Krieger's from the USA. Or APE

See CyberCarl's link in his earlier post for links to the above
