Front Cylinder Drain Hole?

Post by Beast »

No, don't know what i mean? :)

In other words like most V Twins the front cylinder usually has a drain hole near the bottom of the spark plug in case water gets in there...

Has the VTR got one? Because i cant find one!
Just thought mine might be blocked or something as they usually do.

After riding in all the snow this morning, which had collected in the front and melted had filled the spark plug hole with water.

Never had this happen before even in bad rain.

But at least i kept the revs up and made it back home 15 miles away running on one cylinder!

Might have to do the silicone grease trick... any other ideas out there apart from a front fender?

Your HT lead is a normal one, cause mine has originals on it which plugs the hole up so nothing can get in?

Blob of silicone will do the trick, use hight temperature silicone for resilience against heat.

You might benefit from a mudguard extender.

Never had this problem myself, but this might prevent re-occurrence.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Never had this problem before as well and im always in heavy rain at times.
Think it was just purely down to the drifting snow which collected in the front.
Cheers chaps.
