Clock and fuel gauge upgrade advice

Post by scooke »

Hi guys my clocks on my 97 storm look tired and worn so I was going to give her a little tlc and fit some new ones. My question is.

1) has anyone used these clocks before.

2) how hard will it be to install
3) as its got a fuel gauge and I've got a 97 will I need a newer storms fuel sensor to install?

Many thanks guys and girls.

I've used plastic polish on my clock faces which made a clear difference.

As for aftermarket clocks there's this thread

You will struggle to get the later fuel sender/float to fit in an early tank. It will take some trial and error and yes you would need it if you want the meter rather than a light otherwise it wont know what level you at considering the early sender does not float up and down with fuel and remains static at the bottom of the tank.

And you may struggle finding the door on the VTR
The parameter settings
Setting method: Turn off the electric door lock, keep press the left button and open the electric door lock

Let me know how those clocks work if you get em. They look nice. You could always make a sender out of the old one just a bit of trouble.
