Well, I told you so. Tony M was closest and while it was 180 out on rear cams it definitely wasn't strong anywhere. Dumbo 🙄 read the manual again and took note what I learnt doing the mccts. For some reason I had ignored that and continued to time the rear pot 360 degs out. How it ran and produced 130 psi comp test with 4 valves just opening I don't understand. I repeated the test just before correcting the cams so it was real.
Thanks for all Yr suggestions... A lesson learnt 👍

Good that you sorted it, sometimes you just have start over and redo.

So is it producing 160psi compression on both cylinders now :?: or at least close,

Chris.

As soon as it cranked with ign off the sound was different. Needless to say I'm happy it was nothing more serious but I knew it was mechanically OK and no valves or pistons were being hurt! Just pis*ed I'd ignored the bleedin' obvious and was Richard around with a tooth either way on the gears and stripping the carbs for the third time. ..and all for a noisy gearbox bearing. At least the bottom end is fresher though the shells were very good with little wear. Rear susp is also nice and fluid now with new linkage pin and needles. Cheers.

Sounds good to me, best get it redlined on the road to check, though
