What bore is the carbs on a VTR 1000?
Re: What bore is the carbs on a VTR 1000?
Thanks for the help guys... I have now managed to source a pair off Ebay and as soon as they come, work will be underway to fit them to my Ducati ST4 on some home made manifolds.
if anyone is interested, I have just finished this bike,(1000DS Multistrada) which I also converted to carbs and junked all the electronics...

That is some fine workmanship.

Nice job on the Multi, looks sharp with the carbs, I know a guy in New Hampshire US, that doe's alot of them for racers including dyno work etc.. He was just asking me about the VTR carbs as another option.

The carbs came off the seller on Ebay and they are in nice condition. I have stripped and cleaned them, they have come up really well... I like the fact they came with a TPS... which I checked and matches nicely with the ignitech ignition I will be using. these are brilliant ignitions and are fully configurable!

They are looking amazing, how did you get them so clean

They were bead blasted Chris... takes a while to mask them off to prevent the bead getting inside. I have various plugs i use, along with silicon sealant which does a good job around the spindles. Here is a before and after on a Weber as an example

I got around to mounting the carbs on the bike after making a couple of manifolds...... rear carb sits high so I had to cut a panel in the tank to clear it.
not sure what filters I will use... any of you guys use Pod type filters?

Wow you've been busy, looking very good
My apologies for not replying to your earlier post re: bead blasted Webber. It's incredibly to see how the Webber looks once it's been cleaned
I'm afraid I can't advise you on pod filters,
Chris.

CV carbs and pod filters don't really play well together in most cases.

Hi guys, can anyone post a picture of the underside of the airbox where it sits on the carbs?
I will be starting the build soon and I want to maybe make an airbox, not sure yet.
do the brass tubes on top of the carbs vent directly into the box? a picture would be great!
