Start of putting the engine back together! I know its a risk but I have decided to go open belts, I just love the look... If anyone notices the weld on the engine stand, well I am truly ashamed... I have no excuse other than i was really down on gas, and had the wrong tip in the MIG welder  A poor workman always blames his tools so they say

There's no point ruling the weld anyway, as the meek just inherit in the end, apparently.
Stand and deliver, I say.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

You only need to beat the old piston out, get it rebored, new over size piston and 220V light switch, job done

As for the welding, it's doing it's job :shh:

the frame and wheels are back from the shot blasters...  another superb job by Redditch Shotblasters!  he really is a meticulous guy! he does a nice Ducati Red, and a matt gold very close to the original!

Finished off the clamps and top yoke... and gave everything a polish... Polishing is a long, dirty, and quite dangerous job! I try to do everything at once as it makes a mess in the workshop!

Wow you've certainly been a busy boy
Yes polishing is a dirty job I agree, although it can be addictive I have found
It's going to look like a brand new bike when you've finished.

I hope you've not forgotten about the jewellery box for your wife :eh:

Engine installed in the frame! :D I cant think of any bike that is so simple to get the engine in the frame… I remember three of us struggling to get a Laverda 1000 lump in a freshly painted frame years ago, trying desperately not to mark the paint!
