CBR600 Stick Coil - does polarity matter?

Post by StewartR »

Hi,

I am fitting CBR600 stick coils and wonder if the polarity matters when wiring the CBR connectors on to Firestorm.

Cheers,

Stewart.

Yes.
The spark should jump from the centre electrode out to the ground terminal.
If you put voltage to ground, then expect a spark to occur, you may have to wait a while.
Just follow the colour coding from the donor bike's wiring diagram.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Yes black with white trace is the ground, and common to both coils. The other wire (colored not black) is the hot one..

Id also mention I make custom plug and play cables for this MOD, but you UK guys are cheap as chips

So I figured Id just tell you the answer for free :D
