Yes the detox is like it says a detox for more than average muck and to help in the process of removeing previous layers of protection.
So buy some normal shampoo for general washing

Finis and hydra are much of the same hydra being easier but wont last as long.
What a lot tend to do is two coats of finis and then top up with hydra every so often.
But there both superb in there own right.

nanolex you can do items such as clock panel number plate plastic bit indicators mirrors bit fussy had better exsperience with carpro delux

Wheel stuff have got a tub of what have had ages ill dig you some out

And yes the cleanser polish will get rid of wax layers unless its a super cermaic like the carpro or opticoat and gets rid of all the crap normal polish dont

Now that's a shiny bike. So much so it could almost be mistaken for silver in the sunlight. Which is a result!

The Hydra Wax gear looks like an expensive hair product! Seems to work though.

I came across an amazing product for heavy duty cleaning---Marinol Marine Degreaser. Caked on, ancient stuff doesn't stand a chance. Careful where you use it though, clue's in the name.

you lot all ought to be careful ! you might turn your bikes a bit ... pansy with all this polishing and cleaning

here,s mine having had a go over about a week ago with "spray n shine! 99p from a discount shop, ive also done a tank and a half of petrol since

also changed the original screen for a cheap double bubble which i quite like. just a small amount of crouching gets you into a nice calm, buffet free bit of airspace

That sounds lethal. Probably great for a parts washer or when parts are off the bike.
just a small amount of crouching
That wasn't far then.

Some pictures off the beading. As you can see the rain droplets are just sitting on the surface or where it's vertical they run straight off when there is enough water chucked at it. There are vertical lines created where it runs off.

Looks like the Nano coating is working pretty well. The next thing to do is see is how well it resists the dirt and road grime chucked at it

Now the old winters creeping up for use real men that brave the shite weather you might start thinking of cleaning the bike up and toshing it with ACF 50 and riding till the winter goes next year without having to wash it again.

Giving my bike a clean and polish now puts a smile on my face. Maybe not as much as riding it, but if cleaning makes me smile, that can't be a bad thing.

It's been nearly a month now since I washed and polished my VTR so here is a quick update.

A few pics.

As you can see the protective coatings are still holding up to the job.

I went for a ride the other day and got stuck behind a lorry on an A road at speed, and the whole font end of the bike got covered in specs of dirt/cement dust. Since then it has rained and because of the protective coatings it has all washed off with ease and without leaving any marks. I didn't even have to touch it.
