There's a few different calculators on the net which I tried, but found the above simple and easy to use.

As most of us know the exhaust, cams, pistons, timing etc all work as a team and when one thing is changed it has an effect elsewhere. Whether that is going to be a negative or positive effect is something else. Now here's the question, timing and exhaust pulses! When one is designing a high performance engine, should one choose an exhaust system and design the engine around that to get the most from the exhaust pulses, less waste. Or should one design the exhaust system around the engine/timing.

Simple just fit all the moriwaki parts and forget about it as all the thinking has been done :-)

Ok, I save this topic for the future and will see. Mori cams are a bit pricey for the performance I want. On the other hand, I have exhaust system suitable ...

It's no longer just a matter of cost (for Mori cams), it's much more a question of availability, as in you can't get them anymore......

I plan to build some systems to try several different configurations, and dyno to see....

I have a rolling chassis with an empty engine to make sure everything will fit properly, so there's plenty of opportunity to play around and see what works and what doesn't.

Anyone else who's thinking along the same lines is welcome to join into the project- all I need is a semi-decent Mig and Tig machine and with a wee bit of practice I will be able to produce some rough and ready trial systems for dyno-ing.
I was playing with the idea of a trombone/slide section to see what length gave the best results, as well....

No idea what I'm doing, but how hard can it be?

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

You know what Tony, there's a lot to be said for experimenting and trial and error. Great way to learn something and hopefully make progress. Ones got to start somewhere.

Coming back to the restriction removal. After reading this thread Im pretty keen to give it a go. I think I will end up single can as clearly it gives more power and is a lot lighter.

You will loose a little down low but gain up top ,
With correct Dyno set up it will run well .
But be warned it's louder above 6k
