tyre question (yawn)

just a quicky, been offered a couple of 190 rears cheap, will it fit on the storm wheel ok? would it upset the handling? cheers all

I have heard it upsets the handling can't remember what the effect was but not good. Try a search it was a topic some while back.

Would definitely agree with SIAT and what's said in the link he posted

Some racers even fit 180 section tyres instead of a 190 stock because the bike turns in better

Personally I'd stick with the 180 section tyre but it's obviously up to you

think i'll stick with a 180 then, just got offered the 190's cheap, and with my leg knackered at the mo im not workin (self employed) so cash a bit tight!

i've got a 190 on the back of mine,don't know why i went for it to be honest,

i can't say that its affected the handling in a negative way,bearing in mind its just medium to low/high speed use it get's (what i mean is,it doesn't get a constant ragging).

The onlt thing i will say is that it doesn't look as nice on the rim as the 180 did,to ballon (ballonny...baloony.....baloonish ah fek you know what i'm getting at ) ,and hell of a job to shift the chicken strips.

do not go for 190's i have one on the back(came with the bike) now it has squared off a little the handling has gone well crap, gone twitchy and follows all imperfections in the road, going to nec monday see if i can get a set of new boots cheaper, go back to 180 for sure.

Totally agree with Joe on this.
Normal riding you won't find a lot of difference, just a little slower changing from left to right, but when they wear they definitely upset the handling more than the 180.

After this little episode, going for bridgstones 021 from herehttp://www.superbiketyres.com/special_offers.htm they have a Merit tyre local so they can fit on the wheels for me much cheaper than NEC
