I've heard that R1 mirrors will fit the storm for a better view of events behind, but is there a specific year or do they all fit? And is it a straight bolt on?
Cheers and Happy Christmas to all!!
R1 Mirrors.
We only covered this recently
In my reply (in the link below) I stated that it was the 1999 models or earlier R1 mirrors that fitted, but I've just had a look on ebay and it looks as if the longer stem type were used on later models too.
Timbo,
I take it your (non fitting) R6 mirrors were the short stem items
as iirc the R6 long stem items also fitted the Firestorm.

Yes they were.
They fitted through the fairing ok but when clicked into their natural position they were too far back and too low down.
bought em on Ebay for £22 inc P&P, sold em on ebay for £22 PLUS P&P
So it definitely appears R1 or R6 mirrors with the long stem (arm) will fit the Firestorm. If you are thinking about a pair from Ebay I would suggest emailing the seller first to double check that the bolt centers are the same as the Firestorm

You'd need to get confirmation on the fixing centres etc, but these appear to use a ball joint in the centre for a good deal of actual mirror/arm adjustment!
