anyone know the internal diameter of the vacuum hose between the carb and the petcock????

I had to find this out a while back to fit a hose joiner in there to aid balancing of the carbs.

I measured it to be 5mm. However when I put a 5mm hose joiner in there, it fitted, but was a touch on the large side... so would reckon it's probably 4.5mm

Well, according to my set of "professional quality" hole guages from Lidl
it's 3.958mm dia on a new piece of pipe, but surprisingly, when you then measure the end that's already been fitted onto a fitting for a while it's 4.183!!!

But there's no acceptable wear limit quoted in the Haynes Manual, so I have no idea when they'll need replacing.

AND they're not a check item in the service schedule.

So I'm blaming my next accident on vacuum pipe failure.

Let's see what the insurance people make of that :P
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
