My bike has been pinking at low revs. When started it gets warmed up for a couple of minutes then when it is idling will cut out so I reckon it is fuel starvation because the bike was not used by the previous owner for a while and the carbs/fuel lines have some crap in them. Although it could just be a combination of the race pipes that came with the bike and a performance air filter that I fitted so I am putting the bike back to stock and changing the oil/filter to see if it will run better. If they are the cause I would think a Dynojet kit would cure it, if not has anyone used that Redex stuff? or something else??
Also it seems to vibrate... quite a bit, which should be expected for a V2, but I wonder if carbs need setting up again after four thousand miles? I was thinking the miss fires might have thrown it out.

Most likely just the carbs out of ballance. Start there and pull the plugs and check what colour they are. A nice tan is what you are looking for.
Changing the air filter may make it run a little weaker, K&N filters are known for giving you a hole in you power curve around 3 to 4k rpm.
If you have race pipes on it already someone might have put a dyno jet kit in there already, I would check before you go spending your cash.
If they have, spend it on getting it on a dyno and having it set up properly. You'll like the results and it might stop you loosing some valves if it is running lean.

Someone suggested to me that I want to change the spark plugs for Iridiums. They reckon on a TL normal plugs can last only 3k. Anyone else heard of this?? I would have thought the Honda would use NGK that would last a fair few miles. He said even if they look fine, swap them and you'd be surprised by the difference.
