Replacement shock- but which one?

Post by tony.mon »

So I've gone off the idea of selling me old Storm and buying a Blackbird. Which leaves me with a bit of savings, which I can use to tidy up the old dog :D

I can get a Hagon shock set up for my wieght for £325, but will I get any advantage by paying the extra for a Penske or WP?

Can't afford Ohlins, so that's out, and ride street, not track, so need to be able to cope with the odd international trip but also day-to-day transport, even in the ice and snow.

(Although if anyone's got a decent used upgrade, I'll have a look....)

Also, FleaBay has a rebuild service for an original one for £95, and if that's been tried by anyone I'd appreciate some feedback.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I've got an Ohlins from fleabay which I use for the road, which stops my butt dragging along the ground

On the US Superhawk forum there is an interesting thread on using the OEM adjustable cbr f4/f4i shock with a little modification to fit the VTR.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
