CCT'S
This is the answer to a question i asked someone who was selling some manual cct's that he had replaced with Generation 3's, Your views?
Simple, gen 1s broke, honda released gen2's they still broke and now we are at gen 3, make sure its the new part number, gen3s work, no knowen faults with gen 3s, some say they have a pink dot on them but the only way to be sure is to get them from honda and ask for the revised part number. hope that helps....hence why people have been fitting APE tensioners or using these.

Re: CCT'S
To be honest Jim i think it would be difficult to sell some used cct's, as for the pink dot thing mine have pink dots, i dont think theres anything in that
ps Ill give you a tenner for them

Re: CCT'S
Fitted the Greenwood springs to the tensioners i got from Jim, proceeded to fit the tensioners following the instructions on this site, set the tdc mark on the rear cylinder, removed the cam cover to discover the exhaust cam was one tooth out!!! bear in mind that this bike was running perfect and the reason for this job was a precautionary measure only. I put the camshaft in the correct position (The only way i could right this was by unbolting the cam i cannot see how a cam can jump a tooth by simply removing the cct when not at tdc?). obviously i had to remove the front cam cover (pain!) to make sure the front cams were in the correct position all ok there so back together and ride
So.... the old storm will run perfectly ok with the rear exhaust cam advanced by one tooth?
? I have pics but dont know how to add them @Chris, can i email the to you and you add them?
Ta Mark Edit no metal cap on the original front tensioner either!

Re: CCT'S
Get some Dave Greenwood spring's £25 a pair delivered, fit them into your tensioner bodies and never think about cct's again

Re: CCT'S
Even if the chain goes really slack because the tensioner is removed and the chain slips around the crank or cam because the valve springs are so strong?i cannot see how a cam can jump a tooth by simply removing the cct when not at tdc?).
Either way, good find. At least you checked and didn't run into any real grief. Good man
