My money is on the superduke if both riders are same ability :D

I wish I could do it but too far for me as can't do overnighters and it makes it a long day 4am start and 9pm return with missing last session from prev experiances.

It all depends on the rider.

At Oulton I was riding rings around an 08 ZX10, a Duke 848, R1s on a 5 year old GSXR600..... not because I am fast (I am not....a 2:06 round Oulton is a looooong way from being remotely fast), but because the other riders were really slow/not prepared to chuck it.

My mate was on a shonky old Kawasaki 600 with knackered brakes in the fast group and he was showing loads a clean pair of heels (or at least he was until the brakes seized).

thats why I said riders of the same ability - I used to have a cbr 400 track bike and run circles around most things on twisty tracks only ever lost out on top end! I am by no means the fastest rider just confident in my bikes when cornering 8)

Then I would say the Superduke. 10 years of development and much more modern suspension and brakes must count for something.

The 'Storm will get its butt handed to it...

Don't forget the track is a different ball game than the road - I've seen quick road riders go to pieces on the track but also seen slow road riders go really quick on track

Well,

Let me start with my mate on his ZX6R. 1st sighting lap, lap 1 fell off by the mountain, 2nd session 2nd lap binned it by the tight right hander going onto the front straight. He then come off again on the last session before lunch, he didn't go out again!!!.

My other mate on his aprillia 1000. Just turning into the bus stop and some guy on a aprillia 250 got it all wrong slammed on the anchors, went over the handle bars and his bike rear ended my mates aprillia...... DOH.

Now, me and the duke, it was a close one. We were neck and neck down the front straight but he just started to pull away towards the end, he then out braked me, took the better line and foooking got away first!!!. I got a few good wheelies going over the mountain, but not as good as gowland and walker from BSB who were there testing. God these guys are quick.

But i must say, i am well impressed with the storm, went through 2 tanks of fuel and ripped my bridestone 014's to bits!!! All in all a good day, booking another one for Aug, if the misses lets me!!

Timbo,

Hello there,

In answer to your question

1. Yes it did go higher, but i had just over taken the yellow bike in the pic around the chicane. This photo was taken in the afternoon session but we only got 2 laps in before it was red flagged. For some reason the photoman was only by the mountain in the afternoon and had gone when we were allowed back on track, after the ambulance had carted off the dude who rear ended my mate.

2. My mates are alive, however they are still having constructive surgery on there arms. The accident happend a year on Wednesday. Went to the crash site yesterday and the markings the police use to identify where everything stopped were still there!.
Worst day of my life.(Well, second. The first was marrying my ex wife) :D

Cheers Timbo
