Will sp1 fork springs fit into firestorm forks?
And will there be any significant gains in fork performance?
Your thoughts if you will.
Chris.

Re: SP1 fork springs
Physical size of spring/length/suitability? Dunno.
But the SP2 forks are USD's unlike Storms, and it seems to me that the majority of improvement needed on Storm forks is the damping side- solving the bottoming out behaviour is easy, just insert a slug above the spring or even easier, fit Hagon, WP or similar replacement springs at around £70.
Fitting an SP2 front end, now that would be worth doing, but why limit yourself to an SP2? Almost any front end from a modern bike with all the adjustments will be a big improvement, as long as they fit the clamps.
Remember you'll need to be able to hang the brakes off whatever you fit, so you might want to buy a front end with callipers and a mudguard complete.
Lastly if they'e a wee bit shorter than standard you'll need to remove the jack-up spacer under your rear shock mount to compensate, but be careful about ground clearance.
Just my opinion, so good luck with whatever you end up doing.
(Especially if it's leading link, or a Duolever conversion- not seen one of those around on a Storm lately
)

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: SP1 fork springs
Hi there, I've had my Firestorm track bike forks done by Roger Ditchfield. I've now an SP2 road bike and asked him about standard stettings to make it turn in a little more quickly. this is what he said:
"Here is the brutal truth - you will never resolve the handling issues until you FULLY "tune" the forks !!!
Although the SP2 forks were an "upgrade" on the SP1 they did not address all of the SP1s problems and in fact created some of their own because they are a "corrupted" Fireblade fork and were not specially designed for the SP because it was a low volume selling bike. The good news is that it can be sorted out and is great when done."
My advice, either get them Rogered or buy Kingster's Ohlins! ;-))

No bike (yet).
