Cheers LSM i'll keep that in mind m8..

The Doc has resubmitted a request to see a neurologist as Urgent due to the ongoing serious progression apparent in my symptoms. walking has become next to impossible, and thats if i can manage to get to my feet. i can move about the house quicker dragging my carcass along the carpet on my elbows commando style [just dont tell the Mrs] i got more carpet burns than a pornhub princess. The muscle spasms from my intercostal muscles [between the ribs] can make breathing a little difficult at times, and it hurts like hell , feels like my ribs are being squeezed together.I have some meds to help with the spasms and muscle twitching, my muscles still jump about like a special effect from a sci-fi film, but i dont feel it so much. the weakness has began to move to my neck and my head is starting to drop forwards as the muscles are having a hard time keeping my head upright. an assessment team will visit to look over the cottage to see if it's suitable for mobility aids .handrails etc..so i'm still playing the waiting game, it would be nice if i get to find out what has killed me before it kills me.
On a lighter note Normas dad was transferred to hospital in dundee, and is almost back to himself again. apart from the pressure sores he is more or less ready to go home, so a little bit of good news to end the week on..
cheers all..Marty... :wink2

Good news on Norma's Dad, as you say a little bit of good news to end the week with.

Hang in there bud,

Cheers,

Hey Marty,

Good news about Norma's dad.

Good to see you're still keeping your chin up pal

Wife spotted an article in our local paper about MS last night. Can't find the same on their webpage but this is a link to the same information.

F'KING HELL Marty, sorry to not have replied earlier, saw the post and didn't read the title properly. bit of a shocker would be an understatement, having met you a few times in the past at meets and dropped by your old house once or twice i know how this must be effecting you, you do sound as if you're finding the positives which is like you as usual, i remember after you broke your collar bone/shoulder blade, that didn't hold you back for long.
you'll need to pm me your new address and i'll make a point of stopping by one weekend.

keep us all up to date mate and don't be shy to ask for help, i'm sure there will be someone who can try and help you out.
cheerz

Red-storm m8.. Interesting article. i've been devouring all the information i can about treatments for M.S and MND. like a starving man. i can go to china for stem cell treatment using Foetal stem cells..the ones that can create any kind of cell even Nerve cells. The Treatment the article speaks of is stem cells from my own bone marrow. which have been shown to give limited improvement.
The Treatments available in china are by all accounts nothing short of miraculous .but by the time the Morally and ethically righteous, in the west Allow proper research into this type of treatment I will have been long gone, as will many others, and I dont think I would be able to afford the Treatment available in china. even if i was "Allowed" to go. I think i might go Christopher reeves ala south park, and get the stem cells that way.. :eek2 .

Thanks Chris m8 just to know that you guys are actually reading this crap is a big boost.
Now wombles off...sniff. i need ...sniff ..to blow my nose ..sniffle.. :wink2

Kev m8 how the wombles are you man?.. How are Nutty and the Bairn? driven you to drink yet?
It would be good to see you bud. in fact it would be good see anyone! our cats although entertaining. cant hold a conversation. i'll PM you my 20 you are only about 70 miles or so from us, just a quick blatt on the bike...

yup our two are clinically INSANE. both of them are vocal to the point of distraction, but they were my wedding present to the wife. and it looks like she might have them around longer than me!
they are cool to have around ..and useful, the mouse/shrew /baby bunny populations have been decimated round here .
anyways got my appointment for the neurologist through today. 4th June, FFS good job it's not an emergency. so it looks like My doc was as good as his word and managed to push me through as urgent. in a way it's a releif to see it in writing. but i cant help wondering what kind of state i'll be in come June. :wink2

Good too hear you have your appointment come through Marty :!: IMO June sounds further away than it actually is. June the 4th is less than 6wks away, although I do realise this coming Mon wouldn't be quick enough for you

I can appreciate your spirits being lifted slightly after seeing the appointment in black and white. At least your Doctor and who ever else was responsible for making the appointment didn't leave your details in a filing try somewhere forgotten about :!:

Hang in there bud,

Chris.

just logged in looking for bike info & suddenly it doesn't matter :( thoughts are with you matey & hoping the diagnosis / prognosis in june is far better than you're fearing - and it may be neither MS nor MND but something curable.
