Thats already here mate. Only pursuit trained officers can "chase" now, even if the offending vehicle is only doing 20mph!! Mostly it's only traffic officers trained and they are few and far between, if it won't stop it's a "pursuit" and you can't chase it in case somebody gets hurt! What does that say to the criminal fraternity ?

i know that last year one of grumpians finest was badly injured while doing escourt work to the airport, not heard if he was ok or not, think he had a broken back, another couple have also had accidents in the past while.
a neighbour of mine in paisley was a bike cop for strathclyde and he told me that they had been warned not to go over 100 mph while in persuit because the bikes were very unstable at that speed, he said he'd tried it...on closed roads obviously...down by loch lomond and the back shock was getting tied in knots because of the extra weight of batteries etc, the bikes had been back to honda for an upgrade but it hadn't helped.
they are on bikes the same as us...probably more unless your a courier... its a dangerous job and i wouldn't want to be doing it.

Strathclyde cops (probably others as well) have went back to beamers for their traffic duties and ditched the hondas
