Welcome to the forum - yes and no is the answer to your question, but try searching as there are loads of losts on the question as it is asked quite often. Depends what sort of mpg you are getting too. I usually manage 110 miles plus per tank, nearer 120 (16l tank)

Don't let her labour in low gears but also don't rev the nuts off all the time (you don't need to with the torque) and you should do similar, IMHO :D

Depends how much you can get in after its come on :) . That's not a fatuous answer either. The sensor in the tank is on a piece of wire which can be higher or lower in some tanks, so if it came on at 80 miles and you went another ten before filling up, see how much you get in then just work it out from there.

Usually though, about 20 miles max on reserve

is it common for the light to sometimes come on briefly then go off again as the fuel is moving about?

Seems to be "topic of the month" at the minute this...:biggrin

Sorry to say this mate, but it's a big LC VTwin...they all tend to be thirsty. The only thing that lets the storm down compared to some similar is the amount of juice you can put in the tank.

If you think the VTR is bad try a Superduke :eek2

Yes the old Storms are not frugal in the least, you should get between 80-110 miles to a full tank (that is totally full) otherwise something may not be set up correctly.
