I parked it wrong...

Post by scottVTR »

Went out for a ride with some mates and was absolutely flying showing the other's what a V2 can do (they all had I4's). Content with blowing them all away, decided to cruise for a bit, just coasting through the corners, day dreamed a bit, didn't look at the corner touched the grass on the outside of the corner and bang, ouch :(

I was only doing around 40km/h so came to a stop quickly, a bit winded and sore. The bike ended up a few metres away with a broken footpeg, brake lever, indicator, cracked lower fairing and scuffing to the plastics.

Lesson learnt: Concentrate!!!!!!!!!!

Darryl,
Your excuses are so exotic it must be almost worth crashing so that you can blame it on a Wombat. We occasionaly get taken out by a stupid old bat but the rest of the time its usually puddles, ice, diesel etc etc.
All the best

I was on the Reefton spur road, a well known road to crash on... but I don't attribute the crash to anything but lack of concentration.

Bike is now at shop for a quote on repairs.

I've got the quote on repairs... bear in mind the bike doesn't look too bad (to the casual observer it doesn't even look crashed) and it was rideable.

$4673 in parts

$1180 repairs

$572 labour

$642 GST (VAT)

total AUD $7068 :o

Where are you getting those repairs done?

When my bike got reversed over by a chick in a 4X4 while i stupidly had it parked in a carpark it only amounted to about $4500 - $5000.

Damage;
  • Front Folks bent 50 degress to the left - replaced
    New front "mud gaurd"
    New Fairing section
    New kick stand
    New Exhaust pipe
You should get a quote from Garners in Peel st Nth Melbourne. He is a harley man at heart and races harleys, but does exceptional repair work.

Still no bike... getting edgy now.... I want my bike back... The repairer is waiting for parts so they haven't even started on it

I'm getting so frustrated now I'm thinking of buying another bike, I looked at a Triumph Sprint RS

Maybe I'll just trade my old Storm for a new one at the dealer that's repairing it?? Maybe that's their tactic??

I've got a weeks holidays next week and planned on riding the bike, this could cost me a lot of money... those new R1's look good too or a Z1000 or an SV1000, leases are so easy to get these days...
