powdercoating wheels
hi all
am after some advice , i am looking to get my 6 spokes coated. Bearings are out and i can make caps to plug the bearing areas.
What should i do with the cush drive area and where the thin o ring sits on the rear
also i wondered if i need to cover where the discs sit on the front its a vfr front and the faces are machined finish at the moment.
Cheers mark

Re: powdercoating wheels
Any good powder coater should mask up and cover the areas you are talking about, i've had my wheels done and the place i used did it all, i just gave them the bare wheels.

Re: powdercoating wheels
Check with them first, mine didn't and I had to scrape coating off all the surfaces and re-tap the threads.
Which is why they're not in the recommended section.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Nice looking storm you got there firestarter ;)
I'm going to have to get something done to my rear wheel - it's got lots of manky spots on the paint from brake fluid as a result of the leaky caliper. Half tempted to DIY paint it though. Would I need to do any prep for powdercoating?

Re: powdercoating wheels
thanks mate ! Will look different with the 6 spokes !
All i have done is remove the valve , dust seals , o ring and bearings .
They are masking everything up so should be good to go when they are done .
