If a job's worth doing..........It's worth paying someone to do it properly
It took me about 4 go's to get through to Honda.
In the end i called them from my work phone (no point in me foting the bill) Took me about 40 mins to get through. I just sat there nodding every now and again and saying "ah ha, yes" and anything else that let evryone else think i was talking to someone and not slacking off to sit in a phone Q. http://www.honda.co.uk says that insurance will be on-line at the end of June.

Rich.

Likewise I gave up with honda direct and got an online quote off biketeam. they quoted me £345 fully comp £300 excess green card etc and I can ride other bikes 3rd po .This cover was with equity red star with declaration of modifications. ( mig cans, dynojet and k+n). Im 34 only have 1yr ncb and live in a high risk postcode area with the bike kept in a garage with no added bike security apart from an abus disc lock.
I had been with MCE but on renewal they quoted me £257 f/comp so i snatched there hand off and paid up front with a credit card. Got my policy in the post 5 days later ( despite them saying 'we post you your documents the next day') surprise surprise the policy said TPFT! quick phone call and tried to piont out the problem to be informed fully comp will be £974
So i cancelled the policy and returned the docs to them via registered post and 7 weeks on Im still battling with them for a refund. What a bunch of fiddler.Talk about take your money thanks and goodbye!
Bike team are great, quick e/mail relpies, quick to answer the phone and very good to deal with and seem to know their stuff.

44 Huh?
Got through to Honda eventually and managed £225 tpft. Pretty good for London and 2 years ncb. The closest anyone got to that was £60 over and they all told me to snatch Honda's arm off!
Tony
Does that make you one of those 180 mph 'grey hairs' that Captain Picard is trying get banned? Ok, I know the Storm can't do 180 but if you've seen the road they're talking about you'd need sticky caterpillar tracks to get 180!

erm actually ken "no hair"would be more apt.
but there again the money i save on shampoo can buy mor efuel
cheers mate!!p.s.180?"kmh"?
oh and ive got a little more hair than that star trek geezer!!

Hair today?
No worries Tony, I've got about the same amount of solar panelling showing. Forget the shampoo savings, my missus shaves my head with one of those Wahl jobbies. That saves half a tank of fuel every month! Although if oil keeps going up I reckon I'll be back on a moped soon!

bike team
Im not computerish and can just about manage to reply ! I found bike team by a basic internet search.
Their site is a simple fill the box in with your details of bike etc and all the usual insurance company questions..... they e/mail you back normally with a quoute within 24 hours. They offer you a further discount of about £15 -£20 if you take out the policy within 10 days, another discount if you pay up front 1 full payment via switch.
The proposal and cover note form comes to you in the post, you check it and make any ammendments and return it. Your policy arrives within 2 weeks. You get a full poicy booklet unlike MCE who give the impression they have only got a lazer printer and make things up as they go along.
Try a web search and if you cant find em I will have a rummage for my docs and get back to you.
Its worth the hassle of waiting a day or so for the quote as ive only paid around a third of what all the well known brokers have quoted me
I noticed on the policy the insurance companies price to the broker was shown, Bike team only pocket about £30 of the total premium which aint bad at all compared to some.....
If you have the time it may be worth cutting out the broker and trying to get the policy direct from Equity red star..... dont know if they do business that way but if you want it cheaper than chips have a go.... there is no phone number to get them direct on the policy so I cant help with that one

I'd give bike team the thumbs up too. Just under 300 for two bikes tpft.
They're 0870 8977733 incidently.
Got my girlfriend to give them a call too. She saved twenty quid (I know, not that much) but they sent me twenty for getting her to join!
There's an idea, PM me if you get a policy and we'll split the difference! Another tenner off!
