Metzler Racetecs in the wet?
Anyone had any experience of riding on Metz Racetec tyres in the wet? I am obviously not going to go mad if the heavens open but just wondered whether or not they were lethal on wet roads

If they're the Michellen Pilot Road 2, then Kitch recommends them iircmarravtr wrote: why were on tyres this sp ive just bought has mitch pilots on, never used em before, any good????

I've used Pilot Powers...very good tyre. Last longer than 2CTs as well.
Pilot Road 2CTs are awesome road tyres. 3500 miles on my rear with still loads of tread left (thats on a blade that gets well used)...in comparison a Pilot power 2CT used to last me about 1100 miles....

I did a track day on them in the rain and I think they're great.Beamish wrote:Anyone had any experience of riding on Metz Racetec tyres in the wet? I am obviously not going to go mad if the heavens open but just wondered whether or not they were lethal on wet roads.
Just let them warm up and they stick like sh!t the the proverbial blanket. I've done loads of road miles too, the trick is to keep it smooth. Obviously you can't get you're knee down in the wet with them but they are not far off.

My new ride is a bit of a Howler and I love to make her Squeal
Re: Metzler Racetecs in the wet?
Got to agree with Pete. After yesterdays run of 350 miles with about 80 miles ish in the rain they are brilliant. Dont get me wrong I didnt start trying to get my knee down but they didnt give me any moments and they were 80 quid for a pair fitted.

Re: Metzler Racetecs in the wet?
They are ex BSB (mainly Hydex Honda) sighting lap tyres. Most have done bu**er all. I did a thousand miles on em before selling the Blade and they are fantastic. It takes between 50-200 miles to remove the melting/tearing that occurs at track temps then they look perfect. Did not wreck the rear putting 160bhp through em during 900+ miles. As a matter of fact see other thread (Tyre warning) for further details.
