Which tyres
Which tyres
Hi all, this is my problem, bikes in for Mot next week & needs new tyres ive got the choice of either dunlop 207s or metzeler sportec m1s. Both pairs are the same price. Given the choice has anybody got any opinion/advice on these tyres, its got bridgestones on at the moment but i can get a good deal on these makes, cheers

I think what he's trying to say is
GO FOR THE BRIDGESTONES, THEY'RE LOVELY
I've had 010's on mine for a while now and canot fault them.
Enough grip to deck the pegs (minus hero blobs) but don't fall apart
Grip from virtually stone cold
Last well due to the dual compound (hard middle, soft edges)
Excellent in the wet
The only downside is that coz they are so good you can get other makes cheaper
Hope this answers your question

Yep, I`m back on Bridgestones 012 front/020 rear. Instant confidence!!
I`ve had similiar set-ups on a ZZR6, SV650, ZX6 and they`ve been the mutts on every one. Most of my miles are v fast A road/motorway commuting and they last and grip (dry & wet) as well. Can`t go wrong with them.

Hi all,
I need a new rear pretty badly. The only thing is that i don't need a new front. I want to get a Michellin Pilot Power for the rear, but am not sure of how things are going to go with the factory fitted Dunlop xxx (sport/road i think) on the front and a sport on the rear.
Has anyone run this type of setup before, and if so am i stupid to try it? I.e. will i low side due to loss of front traction easily cause i have too much confidence with the rear?

If you do it
go steady.
Personally I normally put a better tyre on the front rather than on the rear. I can put up with the back end getting a bit lively( it's fun and you know your on the edge
) but I like the front t be well planted. It might be pychological but it's definatley more confidence inspiring

Re-tyres
Hi,
i have just invested in a set of the new Avon Azarro`s....and bugger me..what a superb set that are to...plenty of feed back...very stable in coners....and a humongous amount of tread....plenty of grip
I have a friend with a B/Bird who has done over 5k on his rear tyre and still has plenty of tread and profile left.....he was a staunch Bridgstone man...but will stick with the Avon's now....he can`t fault them...

Metzler's are great! I just got a pair of Metzler Sportec M1 Supersport's on my Super Hawk back in February and they are amazing. The stick is much better than the Dunlop 204's that the bike came with and they came highly recommended from a friend that rides a GSX-R750 and is now on his second pair. They last longer than Bridgestones I've heard also.
