fork length
fork length
hi all i wonder if one of you chaps can help.
i am after the length of the standard firestorm forks.
from the top including cap to the spindle center will do- this is easiest to check witout any load so you might have to push up on the bars when it is on the sidestand .
i aquired mine with the forks stuffed in the engine and the white powers i am fitting need the length reducing
thanks in anticipation

Re: fork length
me again,
today was going to be a good day.
we put my new yokes on the miller, drilled all the clamps milled out the underneath lovely jubly.
i turned the fork bottoms down so the new caliper mounts fitted welded them up but while they were boiling hot i thought i would unscrew them....disaster the are now stuck nither on nor off .
i think fireblade forks could now be the answer which model is best, how long are they and what sizes are the legs where they fit in the yokes- i would still like to use mine !
help !!!!!!

Re: fork length
Sorry buddy I no longer own a Storm but I believe the RRW Blade 1998 ish front end is a viable alternative. I have not personally done the conversion so would not dream of giving you duff gen. I have though owned both bikes and the improvement is worthy of the swap.

Re: fork length
ok so i was a bit short on the info, but i was in the middle of a crisis !
im making a firestorm supermoto (i would add photos but forgot how to)
all is now well, we had to machine the bottoms off the forks and start again.
things should go smoothly, now (fingers crossed)i just didnt want to scrap over 40 hrs of machining.
