Warning for Airblade screens (on SP2s anyway)

Post by Beamish »

Do not fit an airblade screen if yo plan on doing ton plus regulary! I cracked her open up to about a ton on a dual carraigeway today and my head was getting shaken about violently , I had to shut off completely after 130mph. Felt like I had been in a tumble dryer! The std screen did not give any grief at those speeds. It does a great job of deflecting up to a ton though so I think it will stay for now.

It is a great choice for touring though. Very good protection up to 90mph (private roads obviously) just starts to get frightening if you want to strtech those long gears

Be careful with aftermarket screen on SP1s. For some reason, the dash invariable gets damaged where the sun (yeah right...whats that then?) can get focused by a double bubble screen and the top edge melts. I thought that was bullshit until it happened on mine.

Search on any SP forum and there's loads of cases.

Me? I got a very sexy carbon fibre surround from magical Racing in Japan which was the dogs danglies....

I work on an airfield, lots of two lane private zones, known locally as 'the dual carraigeway' :D

And they let you ride your bike on it? My butt they do !!!
Thats where you are wrong my cuddly friend :D
Most camps do track days round the airfield usually about £25 all in. I dont partake due to the amount of kno*heeds though. Always at least one big off.
