I just rivetted it on the bench and fitted it over the swingarm.
You can do this if you remove the LH side footrest.

An angle grinder removes the old one no problem!
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

if you know of anyone coming this way (basingstoke/heathrow) i got one you could borrow
1998 Firestorm, 47,000 miles, forks valved & sprung, proflex shock +4mm over standard, manual ccts', k&n, 50#slow 185#/190# mains, front carb slide mod, R6 throttle tube, Tank raised, Viper cans, Coerce fork brace, EBC lite front discs & pads.

I picked one up of eGay for about £30. Not the strongest piece of kit ever, but fine for what I needed. Your welcome to borrow it it you are over near Devils Bridge anytime.

Yes, Chris is right. The chain is routed through part of the swingarm brace, so it needs to be riveted on-bike.

But the angle grinder bit still works, for those of us who spent the money we were saving up for an SP-2 with on angle grinders. :oops:
