Running rough at the top end

Ok, my inital problems of lower end rough running have been sorted with a valve clearance service.
Took it out for a run and got it up to 80ish thinking how sweet it sounded and was running.

Round the roundabout and off again.

Up to 70 and the revs start backing off and it was a steady coast to the side of the road, where it cut out. F@@k was my first thought!

Into neutral, turned it over gingerly and.... It burst I to life like nothing was wrong.

Off again and everythings fine until about 70 again. This time
just backing off of the revs, but no cut out. Back home we go and everythings running upto 5000rpm fine...

Ok, so it doesn't sound terminal. I'm thinking nee hoping, fuel to air mixture problem?

Any thoughts?

Ps, garage said I have original cct's so will be getting so new ones this weekend and fitting myself as Â£240 from the HMD is extortionate!

possible fuel starvation, punctured diagphrams would be a starter

Or kinked fuel lines as you've just had the tank off.

Or the vacuum line kinked or put back on the wrong spigot.

Joe wins,
removed the fuel tap and pulled it apart. Huge split in the diaphragm! So do I go for the Honda fuel tap at Â£197 or NRP's fuel tap repair kit at Â£18??

You decide?

That or copper pipe or cable ties fixes everything.

And bribes/backhanders, that helps too.

And false number plates, copied from bikes in MCN ads....
