rear brake light switch

Post by mwad »

Hi, my VTR has just failed it's MOT because my brakelight does not work when using the rear brake. When the front is used you can hear the switch activate ie click but I cannot hear anything when pressing the rear brake pedal.

Where is the rear brake switch, where can I get one, are they cheap and how hard to fit ?

Please help

OK, had a look and mine doesn't look anything like that :(

And it only has one threaded bolt. This appears to connect to small cylinder and I can't find anything else near brake pedal that the switch could be

the small cylinder should have a spring attached and this connects to the footrest hanger/ brake pedal, maybe the spring is missing and the switch isn't working.
