Your First Bike?
Just curious to know what was everyones first bike. Mine was a 1974 Honda sl 70. Followed by many more dirtbikes growing up. My current offroad weapon is a CR 500 motor placed in a 2004 CRF 450 frame. I take extra tighty whities with me everytime i go for a ride on this thing.

.
This was my first bike, which was bought new as a farm bike, but me (13) and my younger brother (12) wheelied, jumped and crashed it into a an early grave [but not as fast as Timbo!], whilst my Dad was still using it to round up sheep [no jokes about please].
First road bike was .
not green like this one, but the blue was just as bad!
when I was finished with it, it was derestricted and would stay with FS1E's and also had ace bars fitted
still looked crap, but when you were 16 , beggers cant be choosers [not like today ..........start a thread on "when I were a lad", and "kids today!!etc]

Seeing that I am younger than most of you, my first bike was a 2004 Peugeot Looxor 50:

Complete with top box
Semi derestricted so would do 40mph (not bad with a lump like me on the bike )
Well I suppose that was a scooter not a bike, so am ashamed to admit my first bike, which was a 125cc dirtbike, was a chinese import
then I got a TZR125

Twinrider. Like the sound of the aluminium beam framed CR500, is it in MX or supermoto trim? if MX I have to ask why, are you mad, do you like replacing rear subframes when it grips and flips?? if SM, yes you are mad, but I would love to try it on B & C roads.
please post pictures
Phil-VTwin, very tidy SS50. looks like many hours of blood, sweat , tears and searching for parts on the internet there. is it yours?
JBrebel, boy do Aprillia and Cagiva make cool looking 125s by copying the big ducati's. Bet that was fun ............ till it broke down! [only jealous as you can see what a babe magnet I was riding when I was 16]
And as for starting on a firestorm and a GS1150........in at the deep end I suppose,

Re: Your First Bike?
My CR 500 is used for single track riding. I have alot of hours riding on 500,s. I've learned the hard way not to get to cocky on these machines. I'ts still nice to get out in the open stuff and point the front wheel to the sky when in fifth gear.
Re: Your First Bike?
