My VTR is struggling to start

i had this problem way back. struggled to start bike, sounded low battery charge so i put it on optimate. started up next day,run for a few days then wouldnt start again so bought new battery. went for a run 80 miles no problems stopped at cadwell for 2 hours then carried on for 30 miles then pulled over and couldnt start bike again. eventually got home. read the posts on here about rectifier and noticed that the battery was slightly swollen/expanded which apparently is a sign of rectifier problem. changed the rectifier for a r1 rectifier and have no problems since. hope this helps.
