FOOT PEGS / RESTS

Post by seb421 »

Now that its time to replace the broken off Footpeg does any one know if a Fireblade peg will fit as i hate the look of that standard firestorm rubber topped crap with its stick out bolt.

if not a blade replacemnt any one know of a decent peg that does just bolt right on?

Whilst I dont have personal experience to back this up, my main worry in changing from standatd pegs with rubber tops, to the [more sexy] machined alu ones you show, is vibration transmission to your feet.

I raise this as I just fitted new rubbers to my standard pegs on my 10yr old Storm, and noticed the new rubber was much stiffer [oh er!!]. Then on the long m-way run down to Portsmouth for my french trip, I realy noticed the vibration through my feet at fixed throttle riding. By the end of the run my feet were still buzzing!
I refitted the old [soft] rubbers and the vibration was less obvious.

So if you plan to do some longer miles, keep the rubber pegs, if you are doing lots of track days and A & B road scratching, then the Aly pegs will be better.

hi all just in responce with regards the race pegs, had them on a few week now

i personaly think the bike is so much better now with these fitted,

a much better feel with the bike bellow, can feel what's going on with the tires now when there struggling, before with those large rubber top things couldn't feel anything like that at all

and as for the vibrations I do 20 miles to work and 20 miles home on the bike and these not a problem, went out for a long blast on the bike last weekend, had to fill up also after using a tank full and not one complaint about the foot pegs either, plus they allow for a much more lean angle before touching the floor like that bloody other thing used to do all the time!

I found Super Unleaded reduces the vibration considerably...
No bike (yet).
