Heat

Post by Chipset »

Guys

I am just curious about the engine gets heated up very fast when I ride in low gear or ride slow. Is this common?
I see there is no problem when I ride at 120km/h but when I stuck in traffic jam, the temp increase.
Please advice.

Yeh, mine does run hot when in town even if its not all that hot out, but when the day is a warm one, then in town the fan spends most of its time on.
Now I dont know if your bike is a series 1 or 2, mine is a 2 (F3) so I have the LED temp guage and on the open rd it sits between 75-85 and in town 90-100. At 104 the fan comes on and turns off at 100.
So hope this is of some help to ya.
cheers Darryl

series 1's are the 97-2000 models I'm not sure of the code at the end of VTR1000f? for those years and the series 2's are 01- (01=F1 as 03=F3)
