R6 Regulator Rectifier Problems ?

Post by Mick B »

Following on from this thread
http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14723

I have replaced my side stand switch and no more cutting out when you try to put it gear.Strange how it only packed in when the RR was changed(coincidence that other members have had the same ?)
An issue that has been bugging me since the RR swap is as follows.
The bike rides and pulls well with no issues but when trying to keep constant speed day to day riding it is a pain. When bang on 30 it seems to be pulling back every couple of seconds until you accelerate through it and when you back off it starts again. Now I am not sure if this is just the bike as I cant remember it doing it before or could the RR be at fault.

Help

To be honest I cant remember this problem happening before the RR change .And after reading the above thread I dont have flat spot issues as it pulls very well

is your vacuum hose for the fuel tap on the right connection?

Well since I have had the bike I haven't touched it. Is there a chance the RR is faulty ? Like I said no loss of power just nudging back on a constant throttle at lower speeds.

Unlikely to be the RR, but have you checked the voltage across the battery at this rev range? it should be constant with no dips or peaks.

Just a thought would drilling 4, 11mm holes in the standard exhaust be causing the bike to run a bit lean ?
