Self destructing fork seals...

Got back yesterday from a weeks boating holiday on the Norfolk Broads. I never knew you could have so much fun at 6mph.
Went to pick up the bike from where it has been parked in a mates garden, under a cover, only to find that both fork seals have failed, and dumped their oil all over the forks, discs, and my new brake pads.
What the hell? Both at once, when it's parked up and not in use?
So no sunday ride for me

Bad idea, it hated the spin cycle and smelt vaguely of fish.
