I feel the same way, I am only now starting to learn how the SP truly behaves but without a track day I wont really be able to explore the dangerous ground labelled the 'limits'. The front offers me enough confidence to stay with quick riding friends but the same friends struggled to stay with me on the Blade (on roads I know well that is). Not a macho statement just an observation. On a twisty road the extra grunt of the Blade should not have been that noticeable it is purely the extra weight of the SP that is slowing my progress (still really satisfying though in a different way).

You'll get there. It's just down to play and personal feel. I must admit I did find the SP one of the trickiest bikes to set up and got a little lost and had to start again at one point.
I've dropped my forks down about five or ten mill through the yokes and found that's a big help. I then left the rear std until I had finished playing with the front and once that was right I moved onto the back. Only problem was, she so damned sensitive, I could feel a changed in the suspension with just a change of temperature out side and roads around here are so inconsistent you could almost do with another setting depending on which road you take. It's all a bit of a trade off in the end. I finally decided the settings I liked made the front too soft and then put some better springs in. That turned the bike into just what I wanted and what I feel it should have been from the factory. I so confident in the front now it's a thrill to ride it every time
