A replacement engine isn't a big deal. Yes it's hassle, but it's a very easy process really. The firestorm is a great bike to work on and if you can get that front engine bolt out, it's a piece of P.

If you've done a service on your bike, taken the wheels off and the chain, AND have the time to do this... at least a few full days 9-5, then you can do this easily... if you want to look cool in the office (if you work in an office) and have dirty fingers and broken nails, (don't laugh Dave), then this is yours!

The first place to look is the VTR manual.... then a strong back (the engine is about 80KGs).. but it really isn't difficult.

PS. I work in an office and am metrosexual, but I can change an engine....:p-))

Mine just cost me £500 to get the engine out.
I already had a spare lump.

The front-most engine mount had completely seized in the frame, and engine, and needed to be cut out. Lucky the old engine was scrap, as it had to be angle-ground out. The bolt ended up in four pieces.

Honda said they could order a replacement bolt; it would be here by November. (This was last few days of July).

So I did the obvious, and made up something with 12mm studding etc, which is still in there.

So make sure you can loosen the engine mount bolts, and get replacement ones.

But if you need a spare long one I have one sitting around!
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
