Hi all,
Found two Sub-air cleaner elements in the air box????. Do you need to replace these it says clean them (But what with) mine are jet black and will not clean up when washed out in water.
Best to replace these or or clean with a solvent?

Re: Sub-air cleaner elements in air box?????
If these are the foam type (as in standard fitment) solvent will melt them.
I washed mine in warm water with some fairy liquid washing up liquid. Then washed out all the soap with warm water and allowed to dry before re-fitting.
I can't remember if mine came back up to the original colour, probably not, but the main thing is they're clean

Thanks Chris,
Got some brake cleaner from my friend soaked them in that,th ebrake cleaner loosened up the dust and crap and then evaporated in the tin leaving the crap behind. I then did as you did, washing up liquide and hot water. They came up clean as a whistle and came back to the colour I expected.
Thanks again

Thought brake cleaner might have made the close form foam break up but obviously not. Glad it's sorted for you. Does the bike run better?
