VFR clip ons will they fit?? will they help??

Post by Rollingthunder »

Hi there fellow stormers

I have been enjoying the storm very much especially since fitting a set of micron race cans, the popping and farting on the overrun is awesome. I also like the backfire that can be induced by a quick flick of the kill switch  scaring old ladies is a bit juvenile but very funny.... (no old ladies were harmed in the making of this post)

One problem I am having is that the bike is aggravating my slipped disc in my lower back and i need to sort this asap...

I read that vfr clip ons will fit and wondered if a set from a VFR750 1989 to 1994 model with 41 mm forks would fit straight on, I am not that handy and dont fancy any fairing mods or drilling of the yoke but may have to resort to paying for this if no simple solution.

Any input???

I dont think being 6'2" is helping, maybe i should chop a few inches of my legs.

Cheers :Beer1:

Darren

would rather be :Fish:

Yes they will fit - I have a pair for sale in Sales and Wants BUT the switchgear will catch on the fairing and this would need trimming - there are pictures of these on the site somewhere.
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

I've got vfr bars on mine from a 95 one I think.Image
Didn't have to trim the fairing what I did was remove the mirrors and screen and push the metal fairing bracket up and forwards about 1cm then put it back together all went back ok and nothing touches on full lock. You don't need to drill anything but there are locating pegs in the switchgear that won't line up with the holes in the bars I just ground them out.
Takes a bit of weight off the wrists but the difference isn't that radical. I've had problems with my lower back and this week have been using the bike to commute across London It's been making my back feel a bit uncomfortable but I think it's because of the relation between the seat and the footpegs that's doing it.

How about the brake and clutch lines, do you need to replace them with longer ones?
