Puzzled how you could torque up the nut with the axle rotating :confused

Did you have a socket holding the axle still, so you could tighten the nut up with a torque wrench?

Are all your spacers/washer in correctly?

Yes yes all in correctly used big torque wrench, done to 93Nms then thought can't be right so cranked to 128 and the axal bolt and nut still turns, can't be right or can it..............

I only ever tighten the rear axle nut to the recommended 93Nm. I've never tried to see if you can still turn the axle once tightened. As Wicky mentioned, I always have a socket and T bar on the other side stopping it from turning.

I had a breakers bar with my foot on the left hand side bolt so it couldn't move, and torque wrench on the right. I didn't want to crank it up too much but was a bit surprised that I could take off the breakers bar, then quick nip up on the nut and it turned the entire shaft, or perhaps its supose to be like this, bit stange cus I thought they had to be solid, not be able to rotate when torqued up.

I understand what you are saying, I too think they will all move once torqued up to the recommended torque so more than likely normal.

Phew, glad its ok then.... just didn't feel right... I was thinking perhaps the swing arms had mysteriously parted or something gapped out.
