Hi Guys
I am new to the forum so hello everyone... I upgradeed from a Suzuki teapot in June to a 2002 VTR and I love it... Its come to the winter now so i am doing some work on her!
I have come across a problem... I decided to put braided lines on the front but when I came to bleeding I couldnt... After 2 hours of pumping that brake and crackin those nipples (ooh err) I was getting no pressure at all...
I did however notice that the gater where the lever depresses the piston on the master cylinder was ripped and there was fluid coming out of it....
Is this normal? Are my Seals gone? Do I need rebuild kit or just a new gater?
Or do you think it would be best to upgrade by master cylinder to and SP1 or 2 master cylinder and GSXR calipers rather than forking out for a rebuild kit?
Hope you can help me guys...
Hopey

Re: Front Msater Cylinder
As a minimum you will need a master seal rebuild kit, as it sounds like it is leaking fluid. Don't attempt to bodge it, as these are brakes you are messing with! Assuming that the master cylinder bore is OK then a kit will suffice. If the bore is damaged then a replacement M/C may the order of the day.
If you are after a master cylinder, then I have a radial cylinder off a K8 GSXR. it's in perfect nick, and comes with reservoir...all ready to bolt in. Being a radial jobbie, it also has a bleed nipple on the cylinder, making it a piece of cake to bleed a system down. let me know if you are interested.
