bikes and stuff

Post by Robbe »

Hmm, first a CB100N, great little bike, till i blew it up. Front brake was dire, a cable operated disk.
Next was an RZ250LC YPVS import. Total mad bike.
Came with 90/90 front and rear, so first stop was a set of metzlers, 33a on front and 99 on the rear.
Bit of a break for a few years, then got an MTX200 for commuting, Ran that for a year then got a CBR600FJ, ran that for 2 years then got the storm(which is for sale btw)

First Bike; Honda XL250 K 1978, I cleaned out my post office account to get it. Rode it around the woods for a year and then prepped it for the mot 1982. Never managed to red line it, top speed was I think 67 with a following wind, all the mates with X7s and LCs used to let me go off first (usually 15 mins before them) and they would still get to our destination before me. So in the end I traded it in for a black 250 LC, I can still feel the surge of the old stroker.
Helmet; Stadium Achillies with a Bob Heath tinted visor on it (my god it dont half look dated now).

Cheers

A.M.

OK, I THINK mine was a Honda SS50 (did they make one of those?). :? Picked it up off a neighbour one night and went hammering up the country lane. I'd never been shown how to ride so not quite sure how I made it go
but, and this is the scary bit, I also didn't know how to stop it! Ended up with the front wheel dangling over a busy intersection, no engine running and no soles left on me trainers! 8O Walked it home and went and found the guy I bought it from to show me how all the bits worked!
I ride way too fast to worry about cholesterol.

First bike - 79 GS 550. An underpowered, overweight nail that would flex if you attempted anything beyond a pedestrian pace in the corners. How I survived 40K on that thing I'll never know.
