Suspension Setup

Post by hopeyvtr »

Hi Guys

Can anyone give any advice on how I should setup my Suspension? I am, lets say, well built and I know the rear suspension should be on the second highest notch
but I havent got a clue on the front? i.e. what should the preload and rebound be set to?

Thanks guys

Hopey

When I had my standard suspension I screwed the pre-load adjuster in so that the start of the flats for the 14mm spanner were just above (half a turn) the top nut. I turned the rebound adjuster out (from fully-in) for fastest return but still under damping. iirc that was approx 1 turn, to 1-1/8 on my bike.

You may find for your body weight that amount of pre-load will be to much for you, you'll be feeling every pit and bump through the bars. So you may be better off trying less pre-load first. I was around 13.5 stone at the time.

The rear pre-load adjuster I had set on the softest setting. I take it you mean you have your's set on the second from softest :?:
