Paddock stand bobbins and the Firestorm, some advice please.

Hello again all. I have a paddock stand for my SV which hooks onto bobbins and was wondering what kind of job it would be to fit bobbins to the storm. I did have a bit of a search around but couldn't find a lot on the subject. Pictures and links would be appreciated please

I could do but that would mean i have to change the paddock stand around all the time, the simplest way in the long run is to fit bobbins to the Storm. I gather nobody uses paddock stand bobbins then?

I've drilled the swingarm and fitted bobbins to my Storm as in the pic below. One member besides myself I know of for sure, who's also done the same mod is LotusSevenMan. Some say they don't like the idea of drilling the swingarm, but both of us have had these fitted for a few years now and have not had any problems with this mod. We tapped the holes then fitted the bobbins with a thread locking compound.

The other option is having L shaped brackets welded to the bottom of the swingarm, then tap them instead, but by doing that IMO you could do damage to the s/arm with the heat needed to weld them on. It's your call.

Not a problem tapping and fixing a decent fastening through the swing arm whatsoever!!!!!

Thats got to be the way forward, so much easier than trying to locate cups for my stand. I haven't got a clue what make it is.

I think you'll find that is a marker that says 107mm from the rear end of the swing arm and 25mm up from the lower edge is where the bobbin centre is!!!
