Well, he's coming home tomorrow (Tuesday), with more "hi-tech" gadgets to keep him going. It has made a big improvement to how he feels and looks, although he is now unable to feed himself, so something else for me to look forward to.

He's gone from a whisper to almost full voice again, which gives the medi staff reassurance that he is getting enough air. So once home, we just need to wait and see what symptoms are going to rear their ugly head next.

Love to all.

Well what can I say, nice one Dave. We will be glad to see all who can make it.

Its a big cottage, so if only a few can make it let me know and we will accommodate, more than a few, then you better check the hotel and the B&B in Bridge of Cally.

Cheers

As life couldn't get any more shitty.

No medical disasters, thankfully, but last Thursday the hot water tank burst and the spare room was gutted. Like a warzone would be a good description because of all the small pellets of insulation. The estate manager and his wife have been really good and arranged, plumber and builder so should all be back to normal this time next week. Unfortunately the room now smells like wet mouse pee and I'm lucky to be able to actually sit down in the living room.

I'm totally knackered and of course Martins a bit pissed off that I've spent most of the day sleeping, he can be selfish barsteward at times. He doesn't fully appreciate how much work I've done over the past few days. Friday was supposed to be my day off, where I get a bit of me time, do shopping and catch up on sleep, I was lucky to get 45 minutes. Oh well so is the life of Norma.

My mum is getting worse. Because of her memory deteriorating she is forgetting things that have just happened. She couldn't even remember that I was round on Monday, nothing about that day, or that I'd been phoning every day since. Thankfully my sister is doing her best to keep her calm and she is up there everyday. The next stage is to see the MacMillan nurse about respite for a week, as she goes on holiday mid October.

Life sucks, some days worse than others.

That's definitely an "Oh Bugger!" kind of day. I'd try to forget that one if I were you.
Had my hot water tank let go a couple of years ago just after I had finished decorating the hall landing and stairs. No prizes for guessing were the water went :mad2 To say I wasn't a Happy Chappie was and understatement to say the least :biggrin It's a good job my wife has the patience of a saint. If I remember rightly I wasn't the easiest person to get along with whilst redecorating :shh:

Well the hot water tank has been installed, just waiting for the sparky to come and switch it on.

Despite the disaster, it was great to meet a few new faces and few old ones on Saturday night, Beamish, Timbo, Iggy, Silverzipper, Cupasoop, all came around to brighten our weekend. Just a pitty the house was a sh1t tip and they were all confined to the bedroom. Kaz even got in on the action, by calling just as the lads had arrived.

The booze will probably still be here if you plan to return, will try not to keep it past its sell by date.

It was great to meet you all, gave Martin something to smile about and we both felt like we had hangovers the next day, even though very little alcohol passed Martin's lips and none passed mine.

I hope the ride out on Sunday was a good one and Beamish I hope your ride home wasn't as windy as the ride up.

Now you know where we live, you are all welcome back anytime.

Love to all.

I do have excuses: The phone line crackled when you said your name, I had Dave and Marty roaring at each other in the other ear and as I was first at the hotel I had been in the bar for 3 hours before the rest of them turned up. Had to keep myself busy somehow

Well he got a new breathing machine last week, and a wonderful new mask to go with it.

The machine is driving me nuts, the bloody alarm keeps going off because Martin can't keep his mouth shut when sleeping. I swear its making my ears bleed

The new mask is awful, but it gives him a great sleep, just very uncomfortable to wear.

Switching over to the old machine tonight, because I can't put up with another fecking 4am to 7am of constant beeping.

Anyone got industrial ear plugs they can give me. :problem:

Love to all

Sounds like a nightmare, sleep deprivation is the worst torture known to man (or woman) Look after yourself and give my best to Marty.

Hi Norma, I hope things are starting to settle down a bit for you both now, nothing worse than not being able to get enough sleep as Beamish says, it's torture :!:

I know what you mean about heavy duty ear plugs. I have a mate of mine who has an open air cooled clutch on his Ducati 916 (you ask Marty if you're not sure what I'm talking about, I'm sure he'll know), it sounds like a bag of nails rattling away to me, so I have to wear industrial strength ear plugs so I can't hear it

Take care both of you.

You are often in my thoughts,

Chris.
