Hello everyone, I am new to the forum so I will introduce myself soon!
This has probably been posted before but can't seem to find it, Just wanted to know if the SP1/Sp2 seat and rear end will fit to the VTR1000f (Firehawk) subframe? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome Aboard
It's not a straight fit, if that's what you are asking. They are completely different in both wiring and chassis. That's not to say it couldn't be made to fit with a little bit of persuasion and a welding torch.

My new ride is a bit of a Howler and I love to make her Squeal
Thanks Pete, as I am having to go down the route of cutting and welding subframes, I am probably going to have a look at something different, poss duke 916?!
This might be helpful to you if you're going down the 748/916 seat unit.
Scubadog fitted a Duc 748 (916 the same) tail unit and subframe to his streetfighter. Have look at this link, on page 2 he explains what he did:-
Cheers Sirch, that was quite useful to see what it looked like, don't think I will have mine sticking so far up at the back, still want a pillion evry now and again! That bike looks very nice, wish I had the time and money for something like that!
I did the R1 rear end on mine. There is a thread on here somewhere with lots of pics and info. Its not the hardest job on earth to do but you will need a good welder that can weld ally. The electrics can be a bit of a pain too if you use a seat unit that has a smaller subframe getting the cdi units and other bits in can be tricky. will see if i can find the thread for you.
I must admit that your bike was one of the first things I saw on this site, it looks sweet the R1 end really suits it. I decided to go for the Duke setup as I have not seen one (apart from a streetfighter), I like the old skool look and it will go with the Single swinger I am putting on! Luckily I can do all the welding myself and also hopefully borrowing a tube bender to make my own exhaust up!

Well if you can weld then you should have no problem with a conversion. The welding side of things is always my stumbling block got loads of ideas that i cannot do due to the cost of welding. I am however looking into buying a welder and maybe going on a couple of courses to learn. I want to do TIG so i can weld stainless and ally once ive mastered it then i can start the proper mods lol.
You don't have to TIG stainless you can mig and arc weld stainless which is easier but if you do want to weld ali too, tig would be really good to learn, its hard work though!!
