Not been, not going, (thankfully?)

Few mates at work been - from their feedback, sounds like the worst show so far - tis getting steadily worse year on year.

A massive clothing and accessories exhibition with a few bikes tucked away in a small hall? No thanks.

Anyone confirm that Honda were / are missing?

I know there's a recession on, but it's no way to kick start (pardon the pun) anyones economy by being absent from the biggest mc exhibition in the UK now is it?

Yeah, what you just said!!!!!!!!!!

There was NO Honda, even Ducatti made an appearance, it was only a small stand, but at least they made an effort.

The entrance fee was £15, i remember in previous years paying £18....... I wonder how long it will be before it's free????

Your mates are right though, not as good as it used to be. I remember paying £1 at the MCN stand one year and they gave me a goody bag which contained loads of sh1t, but cool stuff which you wouldn't normally go out and buy! This year pay £5 and get, what they said was £40 worth of crap, which included a ticket to the london bike show! MMM, Ive just traveled 3 hours to the Birmingham show, why would i want to travel 6 hours to see the same sh1t.

The organisers need to pull something out the bag or i can see the show being canceled due to lack of intrest!

Loads of high maintenance chicks in lycra though!!

Spot on Graeme.

I have been going year on year for the last 5-6 years +

Last year was the final straw...

Complete waste of a day/money, well, bike wise anyway. Exhibitors have become less and less, you could get the same "bargains" gear wise off EBay or clothes wise from your local J&S all year round!

Prices for food, drink, beer etc had gone through the roof. We usually made the day a social with the lads as well as a bike show. We all enjoy a bevvy or 2 :biggrin They'd made it so there was only one Guinness bar and you HAD to sit in this stupid little "indoor cordon"...FFS...and the beer was extortionate, not that its ever been cheap. You couldn’t even sit and watch the “entertainment” happening on the main stage.

Just as an example of the stupidity of the organisers...smokers were only allowed outside the main hall in an area the size of a wheel barrow or 2 miles away outside the main entrance. Now, I’m not averse to anyone smoking-but why send everyone that wants to outside the main entrance doors? Everyone else that’s entering the building-the majority of which probably don't smoke-have to walk through it all?!?

The only thing I do see of benefit is the fact you can visit and look at specialist retailers/parts. You can physically try/look at gear hands on close up. And there are usually plenty of nice looking lady’s on stands in clothing that tight you can read there lips :biggrin

I decided that I'd save my £25 ticket/coach fare this year (and my spends...) and put it to better use instead-save it for Rufforth or similar should I get up there at some point :) We're hopefully of to Assen next year so I might put the cash saved towards that :)

I'll not be going back to the NEC in the near future  Another one the biking industry/and others have fooked up

No Aprilia either

Them and Honda only represented by the pimp my ride guys showing off their aftermarket exhausts etc.

That's cack!

Agree with you on the smoking John, I do still and last visit in '07 it was like a smoke screen at the front entrance!

TBH for years we've not bothered with grub at the show - it's a rip off - usually call at the 24/7 greasy diner at the end of the dual carriageway nr M42 turn off the M1. Big feck off brekky sets you up for the day - perhaps stopping off at a decent pub on the way home for tea and a pint of beer wi' bits in.

Lycra or lingerie clad ladies on the BSH and Micron stands were one of the best attractions - not for the lady bikers of course (well maybe some  )

Unless there's something specific I want to see I doubt I'll be making the trek again especially as the price of tickets seems to be spiralling out of control.

Think I'll do the Street Fighters in Manchester instead - never been and supposed to be pretty good
