Headlight relay kit

Not sure how to measure voltage drop- I've got a digital multimeter, so if you can explain I'll happily measure it and let you know.
I have been riding everyday to work at 03.30a.m. except the 25/26 Dec, and the difference on the road is superb.

measure the voltage on the standard wiring loom with the H4 connector for the headlight, between the dip beam pin and the earth pin [with the engine running], and compare to the voltage across the battery terminals.

Voltage drop is the difference between the 2 readings, and represents the effect of thin wiring & switch gear resistance.

There should be no need to have the connector plugged into the headlight as resistance is the same even with no current flowing.

No probs about the bulb, you needed a fast solution if you are out riding in this..............any one else want to buy my other 80/100w bulb.

Good man AMCQ for getting some pic's up of the standard V the relay.

Without wishing to sound smug, are these pic's with the engine running as if you remember we discussed this about the difference being greater with the alternator working.

So after reading about it on the SuperHawk forum, I bought one of these ready made relay kits:

which kit was it you got bud - i took a look and there were like 18 million options, not sure which i need.

i have some 80/120w h4 lamps from my m8 so i might try to use them - they have a bit of a blue tint but work ace on the car.
bad headlamp = slow night riding

must point out as well that i can't believe how light the storm feels in corners compared the the old cbx - feels like a ped lol

paypal account went tits up so i accidentally bought 2 relay sets lol!
1st was the one in your link, 2nd was the same with ceramic h4 socket - reckoned the 130w will be a lot hotter.

so unless someone pms me begging for the spare set, i'll fit it to my 750f.
(in fact thinking about it, it's no use for the cbx cos it's got twin lamps.)

also got some 90/130ws 2 for £15 from autoperformance on fleabay.

both kits turned up today
i'll leave it til weekend or maybe tomorow if i get off early, figure out what goes where unless any of you know???

fitted the relay kit earlier with 90/130 h4 bulb - not tried it ont road yet but in the garage it looks fantastic compared to the standard candle.

wish id done some before and after pics really - cant wait to get this out at night now lol

i dipped the lens a bit cos i reckon it will melt the paint off cars at the lights & figured if i point it down it will melt the tarmac & make it stickier!!! plus i dont want to dazzle anyone oncoming.
i know these bulbs are not road legal but tbh as long as i can see i don't care.
(rephrase that - i am totally unaware that these bulbs are not road legal and bought them in good faith from a man in a pub who id never met before)
i see cars (even my vw) with lamps 10 times brighter than the standatd 55/60 on the storm, bulbs have come a long way in the years since the bike was made.
i'd rather get fined than stove myself into a hedge or be forced to ride at 20mph as soon as it gets dark.

well having now taken off my HID kitt i had fitted to the bike for around 9 month's its started to play up, i think one to many wheelies had twated the ballast one to many times where i had it suspened (under the clamps, stupid place but was stuck for room)

so any way cut the wombles off the bike and went back to the standard bulb, and as 99% of my current riding is in the dark i was shitting my self didnt notice how diffrent it was untill i went back to it, feel like no one is going to see me now and visabiltity is sh1t on the roads

im deffinalty going to get one of these relay kits you have posted, hopefully feel a bit safer again, at the moment my SMD led side light (white one fitted) is brighter than the headlight!!!
